About PPT
Denver Public Schools (DPS) has taken significant steps toward meeting its goals of increased student achievement through multiple initiatives grounded in teacher effectiveness. The Janus Education Alliance (JEA), funded by Janus Capital Group, has become the overarching framework to recruit, prepare and retain high quality urban educators. The work of the Preparation Partnership Team (PPT) under the JEA initiative strengthens the district’s focus on recruitment pipelines to ensure that new teachers are prepared to work effectively in our schools and with our students.
The group recognizes the importance of working together to improve teacher quality, and underscores DPS’ model of collaboration to align preparatory and practicing teacher preparation, support and professional development.
Collectively, the PPT is currently engaged in a research and development project whose goal is to improve the student achievement of K-12 students in the Denver Public School district by creating a formative data collection system that provides feedback to DPS and its teacher preparation channels, alternative and university based.
